Royal Canin has been recalled a total of three times in their long history. Nevertheless, it’s a good sign that it’s been a while since the last recall. 

2007 

The first recall in 2007 was due to melamine contamination so Royal Canin recalls all of their pet food products containing rice protein concentrate. The second recall was voluntary after Royal Canin discovered that some of their food contained trace amounts of melamine derivative from tainted rice protein concentrate. 

2006

Royal Canin issues a recall for some of their cat and dog food products due to excessive levels of vitamin D3.
